My absurd little parrots.

One of the best and worst things about little kids is that they will answer just about any question and usually repeat anything you’ve said. Obviously, this has a downside. You have to be extremely careful about what you say. Case in point, I once listened to whatever I wanted to in the car (within reason, there weren’t any swear words), and because of that, the Oldest Kidlet was not quite two years old and singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody. It was actually his favorite song. But when I caught him singing along to Nelly Furtado’s Maneater (which was my…

Happy 4th!

It’s the Fourth of July! Hopefully everyone has a safe day. With all the drier than usual conditions- please be careful. (In fact, a number of states have firework bans because of the heat and dryness) We’re watching the Clone Wars marathon on Cartoon Network right now. Now, it’s…

Six short weeks.

For those who’ve been reading this blog for awhile (or those who know me), you’re probably familiar with the story of how the Oldest Kidlet broke his arm. If not, you can click that link and come back here. Today was picnic day. Since it’s summer, and since the Oldest Kidlet won’t try the tacos I used to make on Mondays, we’ve turned Monday (the one day where they get TheBoy at lunch time) into picnic day. Here’s what we do: I pack an old picnic basket that was given to me by Jerad with some cute melamine plates, cloth…
